Last week I have spent some days at the 25th Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva. A meeting point for the “who is who” of the watch (and luxury) industry. Not open to public and only for a selected audience, the watch brands of Richemont and a few other brands (16 in total) showcased the new collections of their stunning luxury watches and celebrated the results of their exceptional artworks. I attended the SIHH for the first time and was fascinated by the newest watches, but also by the quality of the audience, the design of various stands and the events. Those who follow me on Facebook and Instagram, have recently seen some of my SIHH moments. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s article about the IWC Gala Dinner “A JOURNEY TO THE STARS”.

But first, have a look at my highlights of this year’s new time pieces, that were exclusively presented at SIHH:

Audemars Piguet presents “Diamond Punk”, a stunning Haute Joaillerie watch that brilliantly reflects the traditions and savoir-faire of the Le Brassus Manufacture. 7848 snow-set diamonds define the sharp, clean-cut geometrics of a cuff bracelet, which is expertly engineered as a piece unique of 56 dazzling pyramid facets. Beneath a secret sliding cover, the cool batty f the dial is revealed: set with further 300 diamonds.

20 years since it was first created, the Millenary by Audemars Piguet is an intricately considered design that reflects the multi-layered nature of the woman who wears it. This elegant new addition to the Millenary collection looks different. It challenges perceptions of what women’s watch design can be today.

The Portugieser Perpetual Calendar with a single moon from IWC Schaffhausen: case in 18-carat white gold, slate-coloured dial and black alligator leather strap by Santoni with a folding clasp in 18-carat white gold.

The engraving, carried out by hand by expert Italian craftsmen make the RADIOMIR FIRENZE (3 DAYS ACCIAIO – 47mm) Special Edition unique. It is only available in the historic PANERAI BOUTIQUE in the Tuscan City.

In honor of the 25th Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, Piaget presents a new ultra-thin hand-wound chronograph watch in its Altiplano collection. For the first time, this line with its pared-down, contemporary design features a major watch complication. Joining one good thing to another, the Piaget Altiplano Chronograph watch sets a new record in the ultra-thin field.sihh-2015-piaget-altiplano-chronograph_1417708565

The new Rotonde de Cartier Astrotourbillon Skeleton watch is a limited edition of 100 pieces. It comes in a 47mm large 18-carat white gold case, which is 15.5 mm thick. The iconic Cartier crown, beaded and set with a blue sapphire cabochon, allows the owner to set the time, and to wind the movement.

The Montblanc Tourbillon Cylindrique Geosphères Vasco da Gama – complicated and beautiful.
