<< ARCHIVE >> Daios Cove Greece – Luxury on every Level and Beyond

What makes a perfect holiday? For some it’s simply the sea, the beach, sunshine and great company. But for those who desire the best, who love to enjoy their vacation on the most luxurious level, there is Daios Cove in Crete. Daios Cove is a true gem of luxury hotels — with an exquisite design difference. Its attention to artistic detail and eye for impeccable style is emphasised by its dazzling architecture that masterfully blends into its natural surroundings.

The 5 star plus design resort on the Greek island of Crete has its very own charme and offers luxurious holidays for every type of traveler; wether it’s the family with kids, the wellness weekend for girlfriends, a honeymoon stay for couples or a sporty holiday for sailors and surfers. And here is why:

Located in the cove of Agios Nikolaos the modern resort hosts its demanding guests in hotel rooms, suites, private villas (1-3 bedrooms) or its latest master piece, the 600 sqm contemporary design house “The Mansion” which brings holiday on a complete new level (also my favorite).

Beach & Pool

There is nothing the resort does not offer. From a private beach inside the cove, over villas with private pools (all with sea view), to a kids pool next to the main infinity pool overlooking the cove, the resort and the sea. Inside the main hotel building there is a fitness and spa area with steam baths, saunas and an indoor pool.

Six restaurants (Beach Bar, Ocean Bar, Taverna, Pangea, Ocean Restaurant and Crystal Box) offer different types of menus for all kind of desires from the morning till late at night – from casual to fine dining, from pizza to lobster. All of this is also available as room service for the private dining experience in your villa overlooking the sea.

Sports and activities

For the sporty ones, the resort offers different kind of activities and surroundings. The area of Agios Nikolaos is great for hiking and long walks in fascinating nature. The wind in Crete is great for sailing trips or kite-surfing activities. You can also rent a yacht to cruise around or to visit Santorini. The resort offers private yoga lessons on the beach and personal training with their established instructors. On tennis courts you can play tennis or take some private diving lessons in the sea. Furthermore you can book a Land Rover Experience tour, that the resort has developed in partnership with Land Rover. This way you can experience not only the beautiful hidden parts of Crete’s island but also the latest convertible models of the brand.

Departure and Arrival

Daios Cove is reachable within one hour by car from Crete’s airport Heraklion or within a few minutes by helicopter and offers its own helipad. Both services can be arranged by the concierge of the hotel upon request.

I stayed at a private villa of the resort during the busiest time of the year in August for a proper digital detox and some relaxing time off. Although the resort was fully booked, our privacy was never disturbed and it never felt crowded, we were able to enjoy a quiet time in Crete.

For families with kids there is an all day kids club with different activities and baby-sitting service – to guarantee a perfect and stressful holiday for all family members.

Daios Cove beach resort definitely lifts the 5-star luxury accommodation experience to new heights – especially for those who like the views from the top. ;-)

And here are 7 of my favorite things you need to do/see while you are there:

1. Sunrise yoga at 6:30 AM inside the resort’s infinity pool
2. Morning swim in the sea
3. Enjoy an ice-cold watermelon/ginger cocktail by the pool
4. Have breakfast at the private pool of your villa
5. Experience the Daios Cove x Landrover tour and discover Crete’s landscape
6. Have a Greek salad for lunch at Taverna
7. Ask for the famous chocolate surprise dessert and Greek mountain tea at Ocean Restaurant.

Daios Cove Crete is open from April till November 2018 and here is the link to book your stay: www.daioscovecrete.com.

Enjoy, as much as we did. ;-)
