Gübelin’s story begins way back in the 1850ies with the opening of a small watchmaker’s shop in the city of Lucerne. Over the decades, Gübelin has not only grown into an internationally recognized and well respected luxury brand with boutiques all over Switzerland – and most importantly: its high jewellery atelier and gemmological laboratory at its headquarters in Lucerne. The family-brand has developed one side of the business into becoming of the world’s most notable gemmological laboratories by using extraordinary knowledge and including it into the family’s heritage.
The Gübelin Jewellery Atelier has become known globally for its exquisite, handcrafted pieces which celebrate the beauty and mystique of magnificent gemstones. The Gem Lab provides highly trusted analyses and gemmological reports, and is relied on by famous auction houses, royal families, collectors, and others for its authoritative expertise.
Always a step ahead, by seeking inspiration in their heritage. This is what makes Gübelin and a pioneer in the industry and its jewellery designs so special to me and to its loyal clients from all over the world. And that’s what I have learned when visiting the Gübelin Atelier in Lucerne, especially while taking a look behind the scenes of the inspirations, creations and designs of the lately launched Mystical Garden world. The jewellery, inspired by the inner depth of green gemstones was celebrated with stunning events in Lugano, Hong Kong and Basel.
The artistic atelier’s handwriting is known for seeking design inspiration in the fascinating inner world of colored gemstones. The inclusions of a gemstone, seen under their high technological microscopes, are art. Art, which is being transformed into beautiful and unique jewellery pieces – as unique as the magic of their stones.
This is what could be seen, implemented in a garden of eden-like fairytale yet classy event for the launch of Mystical Garden. Simply beautiful.
