When thinking back of my favorite moments in 2018, the “AMG 4 Women” Experience in France has definitely been a memorable experience this year. A journey that has started in the Champagne (one of the most magnificent areas in the world) and continued in Paris.
Mercedes AMG women clients from all around the globe gathered in France to have an amazing time, network, eat, eat eat…, drink champagne (not while driving obviously) and of course: test drive the latest AMG models to their (speed) limit.
The first afternoon was hosted by Perrier Jouet and the Michelin Guide at their Maison Belle Epoque in Epernay. After visiting the magnificent champagne cellars of the 1811 founded champagne house, we’ve enjoyed an Aperitif at he beautiful gardens of the Maison followed by a specially curated, light champagne & food paring dinner menu for women from the celebrated and Michelin-starred chef Nadia Summit.
The next day’s wake up call was early – but our charming driving instructor Maro Engel, AMG Ambassador and Race Driver made us enjoy the morning in – not yet full speed – in our cars for the day. 8 different brand-new AMG models were ready for us to test-drive though the beautiful landscape of the champagne. I shared my cars with lovely Eva Wiese (Head of Marketing & Communications at AMG) and with German Super-Model and super driver Franziska Knuppe – as well as with my beautiful new friend Victoria Swarovski. I’ve learned not only, what AMG really means – I’ve felt the perfection, passion and performance of the cars through and through while driving them and pushing them (almost to the limit)! What an amazing day, that has continued even more amazing in Paris.
Arrived at the stunning luxury hotel Le Bristol in Paris (one of my favorites), I’ve checked into a room with full views over the city of Paris and the Eifel Tower. An hour to get ready and off we went to another Michelin-starred magical Parisian Dinner-Location: the premiere of the famous Parisian chef Alain Ducasse’s floating restaurant “Ducasse sur Seine” with romantic views of the sparkling city. Delicious food, more champagne, best company and laughter over dinner just topped this experience.
Day 2, in the city of Paris, started with an IWC watch-making class for the early birds and for the ones who woke up a little later (like me) with – what else – an obligatory lunch at Hotel Costes. Given the start of Paris Fashion Week, this was THE hotspot of town and we’ve enjoyed each aspect of the “see and be seen” that day! 😉 Well nourished we moved on to the Headquarters of Maison Chloé to discover the archives and heritage of the fashion house. We even got to see some of Stella McCartney’s and Karl Lagerfeld’s first designs for the maison, that were taken out of the air-conditioned vault for us.
The day ended with even more delicious food and entertaining stories told by this stunning crowd of ladies at LouLou’s Restaurant inside the Musee des Arts Decoratifs – followed by the final sips of champagne at Club Raspoutine.
This was probably the most perfectly designed travel experience for women, I’ve ever been on. Each small detail of this journey has been organized to perfection, each woman was special and had a story to tell, each car was just so much fun and I barely wanted to leave.
It’s definitely this passion for perfection, for drive and for life, that makes AMG and the women driving it so special and unique.
