A sun-kissed tan, a twinkle on the eyes and a touch of rosé on your lips: that sounds like a perfect summer look, doesn’t it? But how to choose the right make-up for this summer look, and more important: how to apply it correctly? Together with Dior’s National Make-Up Artist Michelle Fischer we will show you in today’s tutorial (using the Dior Milky Dots Summer Collection) some major basics when it comes to a colorful summer make-up as well as tips and tricks to correct a faux pas while applying your make-up.

After using your moisturizer, the make-up should be applied with the Dior Make-Up Brush. This base makes your skin shine. For small corrections you can use the Concealer “Dior Skinflash”. To fix the make-up you apply the Dior Forever & Ever Powder. The Highlight Creme Dior Maximizer applied at the cheeks and above your lips lets your make-up play with light (Strobing) and shadow. It brings texture, volume and a fresh young effect in your face without being too shiny.

Nach der Feuchtigkeitspflege wird das Make-Up mit dem Dior Make-Up Pinsel gleichmässig aufgetragen. Diese Basis bietet einen cremig-glänzenden Effekt. Mit dem Puder (Dior Forever & Ever Powder) fixiert man das Make-Up. Die Highlight-Creme wird an den Wangen und über der Lippe aufgetragen. Sie bringt Textur sowie ein Spiel von Licht, Schatten und Highlights (Strobing) ins Gesicht. Die Leuchtkraft sorgt für Volumen und einen frischen, jungen Effekt ohne zu glänzen. Das Gesicht scheint bei jeder Bewegung an anderen Stellen.

For a “sun-kissed” effect, we use the Dior Skin Nude Air Glow Warm Light Blush which has a bronze shimmer and highlights your cheeks. The best blush technique is, to hold you finger under your cheeks and  apply it along your finger as you can see in the picture.
Tip: You receive better results, when applying the blush with a make-up brush.

Für den “sun-kissed” Effekt benutzen wir das Dior Skin Nude Air Glow Warm Light Rouge, damit die Wangenknochen perfekt hervorgehoben werden. Die beste Technik dafür ist es, den Finger als Stütze entlang des Wangenknochen zu halten und den Pinsel mit dem Rouge von der Fingerspritze nach oben ziehen und das Rouge quasi wie im Dreieck aufzutragen.
Tipp: Mit einem Make-Up Pinsel lässt sich dieses Bronze-Rouge noch besser auftragen.

We use the Dior Brow Styler in a brown color for a natural brow look and draw fine lines on the eye brows. For a natural finish you form your brows with the brush on the back-side of the Brow Styler.

Für die Augenbrauen wird ein Dior Augenbrauenstift in einem natürlichen Braunton verwendet. Die Brauen werden Härchen für Härchen leicht nachgefahren und mit der Bürste in Form gebracht.

A perfect eyelid line is for me, personally, the most difficult part of doing my make-up. Dior Make-Up artist Michelle says, that it’s jut a matter of training. If you can’t make it in one step, you just work it out by placing one dot besides the next until your line is done. The small errors you can correct by applying eyeshadow on your eyelid and blur the contours. As a perfect color for a summer make-up we have chosen a blue eyeliner with eyeshadows in turquoise and peach  from Dior’s limited edition of the Milky Dots Collection.

Ein schöner Lidstrich, ist für mich persönlich das schwierigste am Make-Up. Dior Make-Up Artist Michelle erklärt mir, dass es Übungssache ist! Wenn man es nicht in einem Schwung schafft, den  Lidstrich aufzutragen, so sollte man mit dem Pinsel oder Eyeliner einfach Punkte nebeneinander setzen. Kleine Fehler kann man mit dem Lidschatten ausgleichen, in dem man die Konturen miteinander verwischt. Passend zum Sommer, wird heute ein Sommer-Make-Up geschminkt mit einem mutigen Lidstrich in blau und dazu einem Lidschatten in peach aus der Dior Milky Dots Collection, limited edition.

The most important thing, when it comes to eyeshadow is: the base-coat. It should always be applied first – to guarantee a long-lasting, smooth and fresh look.

Das wichtigste am Lidschatten ist der Base-Coat. Dieser sollte immer zuerst aufgetragen werden, um zu garantieren, dass der Lidschatten auch wirklich hält, ohne zu verschmieren, Flecken zu hinterlassen oder sich in den Rillen abzusetzen.

Should the eyeshadow get out of place, there is a professional trick: just apply some Dior Skinflash Conclealer on the spot you want to correct and take it off with a q-tip. That’s the most effective and best way to correct mistakes made with eye-shadow without removing all your make-up.

Sollte mal etwas beim Auftragen daneben gehen, verrät mir Michelle den besten Trick: einfach den Dior Skinflash auf die Stellen auftragen und mit dem Wattestäbchen abtupfen. So hinterlässt der Lidschatten keine Flecken unter den Augen.

For a long-lasting lip-stick effect we apply the lip-liner at the contours of the lips in the same color as the lip-stick. Following this step, you apply the lipstick (preferably with the Dior Lipstick brush).

Mit einem Lip-Liner wird die Kontur in der Farbe des Lippenstiftes nachgezogen. Für perfekten Halt wird der Lippenstift mit einem Pinsel auf die Lippen aufgetragen.

For a glossy volume effect you add the Dior Lip Maximizer on top of the lip-stick, which is one of my favorite products!

Um dem der Lippe noch mehr Volumen und Glanz zu verleihen, tragen wir den Dior Lip Maximizer über den Lippenstift auf. Eines meiner Lieblingsprodukte!
