As many of you know, the LA MER moisturizer has been my classic moisturizer for over 7 years now. It’s a constant basic of my skincare routine. LA MER is so present in all kinds of forms and textures in my bathroom, that I’m already calling it my wardrobe. Why wardrobe? Because just as I for example (personally) like all kinds of basics in my closet, I like all kinds of moisturizer textures in skincare.

Many of you keep asking me about the different textures of all the LA MER creams, so I thought I’ll start with the basics: the 5 textures of the LA MER moisturizer:
All 5 textures of the LA MER moisturizer give the same benefits of hydration to your skin – yet, each person’s skin – or even different parts of our skin – have individual needs at different times of the day or of the season. That’s why I usually have the full range of LA MER moisturizers in my “so called” wardrobe, to pick, choose and mix for whatever need the individual parts of my skin have. I for example use different textures in the morning, than in the evening, in winter or in summer – as a base for a make-up vs. on a make-up free day. For my t-zone vs. my neck and decolleté area. As much as I mix and match my closet, I do mix and match the different textures of LA MER moisturizers.
Let’s start with the original texture:
It’s the richest and thickest of all textures, which is perfect for areas of very dry skin – and mature skin. I use this cream for my neck, decolleté and even hands and body, less for the face. What’s special with this texture is, that you first rub it in your hands and fingers, to “melt” the ingredients with your skin temperature before you apply it.
.. is a creamy yet softer less oily texture, and gives your skin the perfect glow, hydration and care that you need, especially during traveling, change of seasons (towards colder weather). It’s a perfect cream for LA MER beginners. You can’t go wrong with it.
My absolute favorite during hot summer days, pre- and post sunbathing – and as a base moisturizer before a make-up. Its gel texture is very light, soothing and cooling. The best texture for people with oily and younger skin. It keeps the skin cool during hot days and calm in stressful periods.
The weightless soft texture has the same benefits as the soft cream and creates a satin finish on your skin (especially when you go make-up free) and is very handy, when it comes to traveling and moisturizing on the go. I usually always have one in my luggage. It’s popular with younger generations, who like to moisturize with just one pump (perfect packaging), be ready and go.
It’s my favorite gift for a man – and also the preferred texture by most men. Not only because of its handy packaging and easy usage, but also because of the hydrating, calming (especially irritated skin after shaving) effect, but mostly also because of it’s matte effect.
