PANGAIA, the world’s most sustainable, comfy and colorful fashion brand, has now opened a new and permanent space in the heart of Paris: at Galeries Lafayette Champs Elysées.
I am not only a huge fan of the brand itself, but also of it’s genius eco-system. There is no brand, so holistically active in caring for the planet – and innovative at the same time, as PANGAIA is.
The world of PANGAIA is brought to life with a permanent brand installation. Developed to offer an immersive experience, rooted in innovation, exploration, and core values of PANGAIA, the experience takes cues from the brand’s ethos and commitment to ‘high tech naturalism’ and acts as a platform for discovery. This experience fuses education with entertainment, to deliver an energetic and understandable approach to showcasing the limitless possibilities that can be achieved through materials science and innovation.
With a clear focus on continuing the brand’s work of de-mystifying science, the new installation, situated under the iconic staircase at Galeries Lafayette Champs Elysée, brings the world of PANGAIA to life through exploration, experimentation, and transparency. The space was designed to highlight core pillars of the brand and its ethos of ‘high tech naturalism’, while playfully bringing in elements of science and nature.
As you enter the space, the first area of focus is the Transparency bar: designed to act as a platform of discovery and showcase PANGAIA’s key patented technologies used in their products. The multi-level glass table is powered by three categories – plants, fruit, and flowers – all of which link back to the brands’ work in developing PLNTFIBERTM, FRUTFIBERTM, Grape Leather, FLWRDWNTM, and PPRMNTTM. All those materials are powered by nature and delivered by science, as part of the brand’s goal to create an Earth-positive future.
PANGAIA’s commitment to finding material alternatives aligns with the brand’s ethos of ‘high tech naturalism,’ which takes the abundance of nature in places like agricultural waste and infuses it with high tech yet sustainable processes to augment functionality. This brings out the best in nature, through science, and enables the creation of innovative material solutions that utilize waste in a more effective way while lowering the brand’s environmental impact.
The brand’s mission is brought to life through the materials used throughout the space, as well as the design details which guide customers on a journey of discovery.
Along the sides of the space, sit frosted glass casings that house the curated assortment of PANGAIA products. The base of the rails are made from recycled pre and post consumer textile waste and a binder – creating a zero-waste board-like material.
PANGAIA has curated a range of products that speak to the brand’s focus on high tech naturalism and innovation through science. In addition to a wide range of the iconic 365 styles, the concession features select products from the newly dropped Uniform Series 01 collection – the brand’s most comprehensive product offering to date. Standout categories include activewear, tailoring, outerwear, and recycled cashmere, among others.
