As the seasons shift from winter to spring, my skin always feels like it needs a reset: a gentle, nourishing transition that renews and hydrates. While I use most of LA MER’s skincare line throughout the year for different needs, my go-to trio for this seasonal shift is The Concentrate, The Renewal Oil, and Crème de la Mer. This ritual not only transforms my skin, it’s become a mindful, grounding ritual that connects me to the healing powers of ocean, to nature, and to myself.
One thing to know about skincare when transitioning from winter to spring: your skin is adapting to major changes in climate, humidity, and sunlight. Winter tends to leave skin dry, sensitized, and in need of deep repair due to cold air and indoor heating. But as temperatures rise and humidity increases, skin often produces more oil while still feeling dehydrated. This shift can lead to breakouts, dullness, or sensitivity if your skincare isn’t adjusted. Spring is the time to focus on renewal, think lighter textures, barrier support, and ingredients that hydrate and calm while still allowing your skin to breathe and glow.
In spring, my skincare needs naturally shift. After months of exposure to cold air, indoor heating, and moisture loss, my skin craves renewal, something soothing, yet also protective against the rising pollen count, changing temperatures, and increased sun exposure. Skin can become more reactive during seasonal transitions, making it the perfect time to lean into products that focus on barrier repair, hydration, and glow. That’s exactly why this La Mer trio has become my spring essential.
Every morning starts with LA MER’s The Concentrate. Just a few drops, pressed gently into my face and neck, and I can feel the calm set in. It’s like my skin takes a deep breath. I love how it strengthens and soothes, especially when the seasons change and my skin gets a bit reactive.
I follow with LA MER’s The Renewal Oil, which I shake to activate, then pat on while inhaling its subtle scent. It adds an immediate glow and makes my skin feel supple, like it’s been wrapped in light.
I finish with the classic Crème de la Mer, warmed between my fingertips until translucent, then pressed gently into my skin. It seals everything in, keeps my complexion hydrated all day, and gives it that signature dewy radiance
What makes this routine feel even more special is the story behind the products. At the heart of each is LA MER’s Miracle Broth, a fermented blend of sea kelp and marine nutrients, crafted with care and intention. It’s infused with light and sound to amplify its renewing energy, and that energy is something I genuinely feel. It’s not just skincare; it’s a moment of pause, of positive energy, of connection.
Even more important to me is the brand’s commitment to the ocean. Knowing that La Mer supports marine conservation and sustainably sources its ingredients makes my daily ritual feel meaningful. They hand-harvest the sea kelp used in Miracle Broth in a way that allows it to regrow, and their Blue Heart Oceans Fund contributes to protecting vital ocean habitats. As someone who feels deeply connected to the sea, this matters. A lot.
Through winter’s dryness and into spring’s softness, this ritual has kept my skin strong, radiant, and happy. But beyond the visible results, it’s also given me a few quiet minutes each day to slow down and care for myself with intention and positive energy, the energy of the ocean. That, to me, is the essence of true luxury, not just beautiful skin, but feeling rooted, renewed, and in harmony with nature and with myself.
