The F1 Night GrandPrix of Singapore & Surreal City Views with Singapore Airlines

My journey started with a super comfortable 13h Business Class flight with Singapore Airlines on my favorite plane type, the A380. Who has ever flown the A 380 with Singapore Airlines know, that the seats are simply the most comfortable and biggest Business Class seats of all airlines, I’ve flown with. What did I do there? I did not work – for once. I enjoyed some delicious asian meals, champagne and really good movies up there in the sky – in a laying position of course. What’s better than arriving at the other end of the world – totally relaxed?

When arrived in Singapore I got picked up by the limousine service of the Raffles Hotel Singapore. The luxury hotel is not only one of the most beautiful hotels, with a truly fascinating history, it’s also one of the most visited tourist attractions, due to it’s history and beauty. It has not only welcomed the Royal Hignesses of this world – also tigers and other wild creatures have resided there – obviously without a proper check-in. 😉

I’ve not only visited the surreal super trees at day and night time, stunning roof top restaurants, tropical Gardens by the Bay.. I’ve also done a private night safari at the Singapore Night Zoo, which is in midst of a tropical forrest, that I truly enjoyed and had not seen before.

As it’s quite humid and hot during the day in Singapore and I had to work at European hours, I decided to stay in the European time-zone, stay awake in the night and to sleep-in late every day. Surprisingly it worked quite well. Also, many meetings and entertainment activities in Singapore happen and take place by night. So does the F1 Grandprix. Singpapore is the only place in the Formula 1 race is a night race! What a spectacular time to be in the city. The energy in Singapore is very special and the city was booming.

After spending two relaxing days at the Raffles, I moved to the iconic Mandarin Oriental Singapore, where I had suite views – right on the race track of the Formula 1 and Marina Bay Sands. As a huge F1 fan (since I am a kid) I had no problem with waking up to the sound of F1 racing cars every day. It even made me more excited for the race and set me right into the mood for my upcoming projects: to shoot and celebrate the F1 collaboration with IWC Schaffhausen, Mercedes AMG Petronas and HUGO BOSS as well as their drivers and brand ambassadors Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg…
