In the midst of Central Switzerland on the shore of Lake Lucerne, the Park Hotel Vitznau raises the bar in the luxury hotel industry. Since over 100 years, this is the perfect spot for guests to find relaxation and gain strength. The nature paradise Rigi, the picturesque city of Lucerne and the Lake Lucerne offer a huge amount of activities, but given the fantastic wellness facilities for guests and visitors, the decision often falls in favor of the hotel.

For the launch of the new spa I was invited to a special wellness experience by La Prairie. I must say: the best and most beautiful spa I have seen in Switzerland. The modern spa area leaves nothing to be desired. You can start with the Finnish sauna at 85 ° C, followed by relaxation in the Tepidarium with its elaborate lying and lighting concept. Plunge pool, Kneipp foot baths and ice grotto revitalize the body and sharpen the senses. One highlight is the 12 meters long, floor to ceiling saltwater aquarium in the midst of the chic interior design that is completely black and white. Everyday thoughts evaporate instantly while swimming in the crystal clear infinity pool overlooking Lake Lucerne and the mountains behind. The spa is a veritable fountain of youth, since it uses the care products from La Prairie. The Swiss care line was originally developed in the clinic La Prairie on Lake Geneva. It became world famous as rejuvenation clinic and lured with the promise of eternal youth. Precisely these products are used today in the Park Hotel Vitznau with its diverse range of massages and beauty treatments. The three-hour “Swiss Bliss treatment” firms and tightens the skin and brings body and soul into harmony. The “Ultimate Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Facial” uses clear and rose quartz crystals to nourish the skin with moisture, energy and protection.

Exclusive additives like caviar pearls, caviar and gold serum in other facial and body treatments ensure a glowing complexion and a radiant skin, which of course also affects the state of mind. The specially designed spa arrangements at the Parkhotel include the “Mother & Daughter’s Day”, “Couples Day” and a “Private Spa Suite”. Facials with La Prairie products, Manicure, pedicure, catering and chauffeur service are only some of the amenities for guests.

Of course, also the restaurants of the Park Hotel are of outstanding quality – which explains that the restaurant “focus” has been awarded with two and the “Prisma” with one Michelin star. The stylish ambience of the “focus” links the picturesque landscape with the interior of the hotel through the use of water, wood and stone. In the 180 ° panoramic glass pavilion of the “Prisma”, the guests dine with a view of the mountains and the lake of Central Switzerland. Sitting on the lakeside terrace with its nostalgic gazebo and jetty feels like a piece of heaven on earth.

Dazu muss ich sagen: es ist das schönste und beste Spa, das ich bisher in der Schweiz besucht habe. Im modernen Spa Bereich bleiben wirklich keine Wünsche offen. Spektakulär ist das 12 Meter lange, raumhohe Salzwasseraquarium inmitten der schlichten Innenarchitektur, die komplett in schwarz-weiß Kontrasten gehalten ist. Beim Schwimmen im glasklaren Infinity Pool mit Blick auf den Vierwaldstättersee und das dahinterliegende Bergpanorama verfliegen Alltagsgedanken augenblicklich. Der Wellnessbereich ist ein wahrer Jungbrunnen, da hier die Pflegeprodukte von La Prairie eingesetzt werden. Die Schweizer Pflegeserie wurde einst in der gleichnamigen Klinik La Prairie am Genfer See entwickelt. Sie wurde als Verjungungsklinik weltbekannt und lockte mit dem Versprechen ewiger Jugend. Eben jene Produkte verwendet heute das Parkhotel Vitznau im breitgefächerten Angebot der Massage- und Beauty Anwendungen. Bei der dreistündigen “Swiss Bliss Behandlung” festigt und strafft die Skin Caviar Behandlung die Haut und bringt Körper und Seele in Einklang. Die “Ultimate Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Gesichtsbehandlung” setzt Berg- und Rosenquarzkristalle ein und liefert Feuchtigkeit, Energie und Schutz für schöne Haut.
