I feel so inspired and refreshed to be back at an in-person art fair, to feel the vibe and the buzz that comes along with these kind of international events!
Simple Talk 2017 by Pablo Reinoso is a perfect sculpture in midst of the Dubai Financial District, where the art fair has set up a sculpture park – I feel like it shows the world, that Dubai is back to life – after the pandemic. It’s inviting to enjoy life again and engage in art, talks and the city.
Art Dubai 2021 is different than in the past years. It’s smaller, yet very pleasant and enjoyable. You really have time to engage in the art works, it’s very relaxed yet vibrant and sets the tone for a new dynamic of exhibiting art. Setting it up in midst the Dubai Financial District gives it an extra special energy.

The fair is very organized in terms of ticketing and time slots and the number of persons being allowed inside the tent. Everything is booked via the app and released in QR codes. Masks are mandatory. It feels very relaxed and there was no stress. You could really see the smiles in peoples eyes, which was a nice experience. Also the focus is more on the art – because you barely recognize the people, so you really just watch the art and you can enjoy it more.

JR’s stunning projects of the artistic transformation of the Louvre in Paris shown at Galerie Perrotin. It’s definitely been my favorite.
JR’s works are so impressive and innovative.
Ruinart x David Shrigley Unconventional Bubbles. Little did we know… His works for Ruinart’s Art Commission 2020 related to sustainability and the health of our planet are very on point and coincidentally perfectly representing the current situation in the world. Perfect placement and statement at Art Dubai!
These Reflections, the night-light, palm trees and the financial district (DIFC) – it is just a way of showing that all this can perfectly exist next to each other. That the world is not black OR white – it’s art, it’s colors, it’s black and white being side by side – together. You can unite it all!
